CPT Testing

 

The Cone Penetrometer Test or 'CPT' involves pushing a load sensing cone at a controlled rate of descent through the earth in order to measure the resistance on the way down. 
From the CPT graph shown below left we can see the ground gradually firming up on the way down . 
The graph below incorporates the latest technology CPT set up which commonly includes end bearing (QC), Sleeve Friction (FS) and the Ratio of Friction (RF). Many other reporting options are also available including CPTu (being Dynamic Pore Pressure)

Our Digger mounted rig offers all of the same features as the highly mobile ute mounted rig but with the option of excavating test pits along with all standard digger functions as well.
